By studying current events, geography, politics and various cultures, students learn about their relationship to the outside world. Our social studies curriculum becomes meaningful through participatory experiences that include drama, art and field trips. In addition, the social studies curriculum offers numerous opportunities for integration of Jewish studies.

In the Middle School program, history is enlivened through the integration of primary source materials, guest speakers, art, drama, literature, projects, field trips and multimedia presentations. In the sixth and seventh grades, students study ancient civilizations and world history through early modern times. Modern U.S. history and government is taught in eighth grade.
